Un-Moving
How I Accidentally Retired from Resistance
Field Guide Rule #47
When resistance settles, momentum quietly takes care of itself.

Un-Moving
I gather
and embrace
the calm
undulating
waves of
gentle
allowing
no obstacles
no resistance
in sight
a prairie ocean
of breezy
rippling
grasses
as far as
the eye
can see.
smiling inward
bathing in
grace
gratitude
flow
No rush or urgency
No apology
no explaining
No obligation
or lessons
or doing
or desires
or deciding
this is Peace
no wonder even
nor curiosity
no wish for
anything at all
anyway
anyhow
just emptiness
open space blowing
how lovely.
rustle
dawdle
drown
rise
sweep
repeat
I didn't notice
until
Now —
I had no
solid ground
to stand on
to gaze from
no calm
un-moving place
to be
still in.
The constant
hustle
shifting
changing
subtly present
always
like rocking
of boats
at sea
moving
always
Now I pull
down the shade
move inside.
The shifting
horizon
silenced
from view.
Peace.
Freedom.
I am here
the un-moving one
feet on solid ground
posture erect
Powerful.
Rooted.
Unstruck.
Unstickable.
Just noticing
glad of the
connection to
true stillness
alone
content
rapt.
